Tips on how to practice cello? (And not only cello)

“I want to become much better at the cello. Do you have some tips or tricks how to learn better?”
There are two main things: how often you practice and how you practice.
Daily practicing is the “must have” routine here. The more time you can spend on it, the better. However, the most important key to successful practice is how you do it, because you can just play for hours, but the real drill is different.
Split your time up into thirds. Practice your warm ups and fundamentals (do not forget scales) in the first third. The second third belongs to practicing things you’re bad at. If you don’t have enough time, focus on the most problematic bits. Then, the last part is for having fun.
